WEARING CLOTH MENSTRUAL PADS

How exactly are the pads fastened in place?
Place the Wemoon pad label-side down onto the inside of your panty gusset (lengthwise front to back), then fold wings around the outsides to meet underneath at the press-studs, and clip together.
For a woman with reduced sensation in her hands due to multiple sclerosis, we suggested attaching the pad before putting panties on, such that once the pad was laid into the panty gusset she could turn the whole lot over, line up the press-studs and push down onto a reasonably hard surface underneath. Apparently this was successful.
I've found some other washable pads 'bunch up' when I fasten them.
Will Wemoon's do the same?

No! We have gone to great lengths to investigate what is an appropriate crotch and wing width for each pad size, so that our pads actually do the job of catching all the blood, while still not bunching the underwear from being too narrow, nor causing discomfort or moving around from being too wide. I suggest you check our crotch width chart to suit your specific needs.
Longer side wings also mean Wemoon pads not only catch the flow better, but mould smoothly to your body curves, staying neatly in place.
ABSORPTION & BREATHABILITY

Are they as absorbent as 'disposables'?
Yes, if not more so, but do remember to change them as often for hygiene's sake.
I've used my Wemoon pads a few times now, and notice they seem to absorb better now than when they were new. Is this true or am I imagining it?
Yes you're absolutely right. In fact we strongly recommend pre-washing your new Wemoon pads before first use, not only to remove any manufacturing residues, but also because this really improves absorbency. Unlike a lot of other products, Wemoon pads actually improve with age! With repeated washing the fabric and components become softer and even more absorbent . . .
I like to wear only 100% cotton panties because they allow for much better air flow than synthetics, helping keep down yeast infections. This is one of the major reasons why I don't want to use disposable pads, with their plastic layers. Will the leakproof laminate layer in Wemoons affect breathability?
The waterproof laminate in Wemoon pads represents the latest in environmental technology, producing a biodegradable synthetic which while being completely leakproof, does allow air flow, so your skin can still breathe.
WASHING & DRYING

Are your pads machine washable, and if so what temperature can they be washed at?

We recommend a 'warm' to 'hot' wash, which is anything up to 60°C. You can also wash reliably in cold water if you prefer.
Is machine-washing hygienic?
As long as you have soaked and squeezed the pads before washing, most blood will have been removed, and the machine will do the rest. If you can't hang your pads in the sun to dry (a natural sanitiser), we also recommend adding tea-tree or eucalyptus oil, or any type of anti-bacterial to your wash for extra surety.
Does staining occur on Wemoon pads?
If you soak your pads immediately after wearing then machine-wash, you should not have problems with staining. However, sometimes on the last days of bleeding, when the blood is not flowing as freely, it tends to dry somewhat before you can soak your pads. In this case we recommend applying some white vinegar, salt, or stain-removing soap, then give a little scrub with some added water before soaking and washing. If you are still having problems with staining, we highly recommend Ruby Red over other colours!
How long do Wemoon pads take to air dry?
Wemoons dry a lot faster when they are spun-dried in the washing machine, so even if I am hand-washing I tend to put them into a final spin cycle before hanging out to dry. Then they usually dry within 2 - 3 hours in the sun, or for a day in a breezy spot (I have a line under the house).
Can Wemoon pads be put into the clothes- (tumble-) dryer?
Yes!
Is it ok to iron them?
Yes.
When I wash my Wemoon pads, I don't use any detergent but natural soap sometimes, to save the environment. I have washed Wemoon many times in 1 year, and I feel it is getting 'hard'. Could this be so, and what can I do?
This does seem to be a problem over time when washing in just water. However, we have found that putting your pads in the tumble dryer from time to time will make them much softer again. If this can't be done, you could try adding eucalyptus oil to your final rinse.
DURABILITY

I'd like some idea of how long I can expect these pads to last, if I follow the care instructions properly . . .

My original pads are now over 4 years old and are in really good condition; in fact they are my favourites, having become more flexible and comfortable over time. I expect Wemoon pads to last at least 5 years or more.
COLOURS

I love the Wemoon colours and patterns, but will they always be available and will you ever have more?

Fabric runs come and go, and although we always expect to have Ruby, Rose, and Natural, some colours and patterns will change over time. Blue Tartan and Red Tartan are now available again, and we are also hoping to offer a 'rose print' and perhaps another 'celestial print' since the originals were so popular. If you have any further suggestions for colours or patterns, please let us know.
DECREASED BLOOD FLOW

I know this might sound crazy, but since I've been using Wemoon pads rather than disposable products, I could swear my blood flow has decreased, with my cycle decidedly shorter. Have any other women commented on this?

Well yes . . . they have actually. We've had women claim that disposable products contain some sort of chemicals which induce bleeding, whether by coincidence or because this promotes the use of more product is unsure, but we're reluctant to comment . . . Perhaps it's simply your body saying thank you! (See also 'A Convert to Cloth')
