You look to the world
with unblinking eyes of
surrealism,
watching the death
of millions
from inside your tiny box
of
sheltering
cardboard and plastic.


So many times
you have sat
in your size 3 jeans
while young girls
dropped to idol
your plastic body parts
and thick,
blonde hair.


Your twisted smile
sits
unchanging
upon your molded face
as bombs drop,
anorexics die,
killers kill,
a baby is shot,
Ken rapes
your next-door neighbor,
a limb is cut.


Tears drop
from inside your tiny box
of
sheltering
cardboard and plastic.

This page used to have an illustration but I received a letter from Mattel's solicitors asserting that 'the site is a violation of Mattel's copyrights' and demanding 'without prejudice to any other rights that Mattel may have, that the site be removed.'

Hmmmmm! So the piccie of the unmentionable doll has gone but my sentiments remain.
