Each season is heralded by a Rite of Passage
Spring/Maiden is marked by puberty - the Menarche; Summer/Mother is heralded by childbirth. Autumn/Maga is the time of menopause and Winter/Crone can be considered as marked by the relaxation of worldly duties in retirement.
